Cleaning the Black Berkey elements
Remove filter elements from the filter housing by turning the wing nuts counterclockwise, then gently pull up to remove from housing.
Using a soft brush, gentle scrub each element with warm water and a mild dish washing detergent. Once clean, rinse filters under running water until all soap residue is removed.
Reassemble the filters by reversing step 1.

Cleaning the upper and lower stainless steel chambers
For best results, use warm water and a mild dishwashing detergent when cleaning the upper and lower chamber. Do not soak the chambers for prolonged periods of time or use abrasive cleaners.
